The Pro Chef Middle East Awards 2020

What is the Pro Chef of the Year award?

The category of ‘Pro Chef of the Year’ is a separate category to the others and will not be open for industry voting to determine the winner as in previous years. Instead, this year’s format is that of a professional live cooking competition which will be held on 22^nd November 2020 at The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management.

UAE-based chefs in leadership positions, including Executive Chef, Head Chef and Chef de Cuisine are invited to submit their nomination for this category by completing the form below.

4 Chefs will then be carefully selected from the nominations to compete against each other in the hope of being crowned ‘Pro Chef of the Year’.

The competition will be a mystery ingredient cook-off followed by a blind tasting judged by a panel of industry experts. The chosen Chefs will have 3 hours to plan and prepare 3 courses and will be judged on the following criteria:

Creativity
Presentation
Taste
Technique
Time Management
Use of Ingredients

Nominations are open to UAE-based chefs in leadership positions, including Executive Chef, Head Chef and Chef de Cuisine.
Chefs can nominate themselves or be nominated by their employer.
Only 1 nomination is required per Chef.
This nomination is separate to the other categories which were previously open, if you nominated in a different category previously, you will need to nominate again.
Chefs should be available for 1 day to take part in the competition in November and be prepared to represent the company mentioned on the nomination form.
Nominations will close on 5^TH May 2020 and Chefs through to the next stage (Live Culinary Competition on 22^nd November) will be contacted by 1^st October 2020.
By submitting a nomination, this does not mean you are automatically through.

Please take the time to fill out your nomination form in as much detail as possible, incomplete nominations will not be put forward for consideration.
