Tashas Group has promoted Rowell Doronila to Group Pastry Chef, recognising his contribution to the brand’s dessert offering. Since joining Flamingo Room by tashas as Pastry Sous Chef in 2017—and previously as part of the opening team at tashas Jumeirah, Al Wasl—Rowell has been key in developing the group’s pastry programme.

With a background in classical and contemporary pastry techniques, Rowell approaches each dessert with precision, balancing flavours, textures, and presentation. His experience spans Magnolia Bakery Dubai, Taste of Fame, and Maya Délices Bahrain, alongside a Diploma in Hospitality from the International Centre for Culinary Arts in Dubai. He has also trained and mentored junior pastry chefs within the group.

Most recently, he collaborated with Culinary Director Jill Okkers on new desserts for Flamingo Room’s latest menu. In his new role, he will oversee pastry development across the group’s venues, ensuring consistency and innovation in its dessert offerings.
