Bahrain’s first luxury eco-resort: Hawar Island unveils Hawar Resort by Mantis

In collaboration with Edamah, the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company Mumtalakat, this project signifies a new era of luxury, eco-tourism, and adventure in the region.

Scheduled to open in Q3 2024, the resort is poised to attract visitors worldwide, reflecting a significant strategic initiative by the Government of Bahrain to develop Hawar Island into a complementary tourism destination to the Kingdom’s main island. Situated on the west coast of Hawar Island, the resort will be surrounded by a wildlife sanctuary, positioning it as one of the Middle East’s first environmentally focused projects. With 102 keys, including luxury accommodation units, five dining concepts, and extensive sports and leisure facilities, Hawar Resort by Mantis aims to redefine the hospitality landscape in Bahrain.

In addition to the Hawar Resort by Mantis project, several partnership agreements are anticipated to further enhance the resort’s offerings, including an Adventure Park featuring thrilling activities, the Bear Grylls Survival Academy, a waterpark with exciting rides, and other outdoor pursuits catering to adventure and sports enthusiasts. Developed in collaboration with UK television presenter and survival expert Bear Grylls, the Survival Academy aims to challenge and excite visitors with activities that test their resilience and outdoor skills.

Guests can experience diverse wildlife, including sand gazelles, vibrant coral reefs, and endangered dugongs, as well as migratory birds like Socotra cormorants. Overwater villas provide direct access to the sea, offering exceptional service amidst the island’s stunning natural surroundings.
